What have I been up too

 I feel as though I have been painting continuously throughout this pregnancy redoing rooms and furniture. The biggest redo was the family room, I had never really liked it and I think I am finally getting to where it feels like me and is filled with things I like.  I won't bother you with too many details feel free to ask though mainly a lot of spray painting like crazy including picture frames, lamps, end tables, vases and such.  There are still small things that need adjusting, but it will take time and that is half the fun.
And just as I thought I was wrapping things up I found a rocking chair I would really like to have redone before baby gets here. Paint and seat recovered.  Should be fairly easy, just need time, cool weather and time, oh yeah and cool weather, please.

Before: Green walls Oak built-in bookshelves, different furniture
After: white bookshelves, new sectional, almost white walls

I have also been working on the boy's bedroom, which included painting the free, handed to us by God bunk beds so they 'almost' match the other things in the room.  My mom is working on some matching/coordinating quilts for their room, inspired by Pottery Barn's Greyson quilt.  Hopefully I can get some pictures up of their room, though I was not good at taking any 'before' shots.

Dane- isms

This blog is slowly but surely fading. But I will be on occasionally to update and document some of our memories.  Dane I think has entered what most people consider the "terrible twos"  for us it didn't hit until 3 1/2 and I am hoping it is short lived.

Here are a few things that have really made me laugh lately.  Our nightly Bible stories must be making an impression.
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
We went to Adventureland Amusement Park and we pointed out the Ferris Wheel to Dane figuring it was one of the few rides I may actually be able to ride at 8 months pregnant.  He got really excited and kept asking when we could ride the Pharisee.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
My Uncle Harold lives with my parents.  Dane usually gets excited to see him.  Though lately he keeps asking if Uncle Herod is going to be there.  And while reading bible stories he will stop and ask is that King Harold or King Herod.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Dane also likes to shorten words to one syllable, which a lot of times is ending up sounding like borderline swearing. For example he has been really quizzing me on what is a good but and what is a bad butt.  He will get me in trouble if he hears me saying the word but, and I will try to explain how it is not that kind of butt.  So one day I started singing "conjunction junction what's your function?"  He then jumps on board and starts sing over and over "what the funct".  Oh boy.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
In Cubbies this spring they got some play-doh to play with and bring home.  The Cubbies leaders were laughing at Dane because he was making turdlettes with his play-doh and grossing out the girls, he told me the girls liked it.  What the Cubbies leaders didn't know was the first thing he made when he got home was the male anatomy.  I am just thankful he only made turdlettes at Cubbies.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
One day Dane asked me if he could go outside.  I said yes, then he asked if he could go outside with no clothes on.  I said no.  His comeback was, "yeah, because then all the neighbors will see me and say who is that little boy wearing a pen*s."
We have a lot of work to do with what is appropriate and not appropriate.
Just for fun
I am trying to use new video software, so I made some videos for fun.  I am not computer savvy by any stretch  of the imagination so I know there is way more that could be done for these, but bottom line they are fun for us to watch.
This second one cracks me up. Be sure to watch for Cade's special effects at the end.  I had wanted to include him because he was just so cute watching Dane ride his bike so I tried to zoom in on him and all I got was a big toot. Boys.
Thank you pinterest
..for all the awesome ideas I find, because I am just not that creative on my own.  Just a copycat.
Here are a few of my recently completed projects thanks to the creative minds out there.
First up is this hydrangea wreath.  I had been on the lookout for the right spring wreath for my front door, since it was April and I still had my furry Christmas wreath hung up.  This one was inspired by one seen in the Pottery Barn Catalog  for $129.95.  I will say it cost me more than I like to spend even at 50% off fake flowers still add up, but it was way way cheaper than the $129.95.   I like the results so I guess it was worth it.  Click here for the tutorial.
getting started
finished project, though I would like to hang it lower using ribbon.
 I saw this next one on the Nate Berkus Show, my favorite nap time indulgence.  It seriously cost me pennies if you want to break down the actual cost.  But in actuality I spent 1 dollar on small paper bags at the Dollar Tree, and a glue stick I had on hand.  That's it, that's all it took for these fun paper flowers.  Think of possibilities if you were to use different colors for different seasons or occasions.  Like red poinsettia's at Christmas or pink and white for a baby shower....  Click here for the tutorial.
 And my last project also inspired by Pottery Barn was a moss covered monogram.  Here is a look at PB.
And here is mine.  Ok so maybe mine is a little brighter, maybe it's the lighting because it doesn't seem that bright in person.  I can't even decide where I want to put this beauty.  On the front door with the wreath, or maybe on the mantle, or maybe over top a piece of art hanging with a ribbon.  I can't decide but it's on the mantle for now.  Click on the link for this tutorial.
 And just in case you think I am really cool and a great imitator I totally got caught up in my excitement to get this done, I traced and cut out my 'F' backward.  Awesome huh?!  As I was cutting the first (backward) 'F' I was thinking about how I would have so much moss left over and of all the possibilities of things I could cover in moss, but alas all I was able to get were to F's cut out of the moss sheet I bought- not on sale :o(
